We test across greater Sydney, from strata buildings and office towers to shopping centres, hospitality venues and new construction. High foot traffic, polished finishes and constant cleaning mean Sydney's entries, lobbies, food courts and amenities are the areas we're most often asked to test.
Sydney's busiest floors work hard. Polished stone and porcelain, constant foot traffic and frequent cleaning all affect how much grip a surface has, and a summer storm can turn an entry into the most slippery spot in the building. Areas we're most often asked to test:
Polished stone, marble and porcelain lobbies
Entries, foyers and lift lobbies where rain is tracked in
Food courts, commercial kitchens and amenities
Apartment balconies, podium gardens and pool decks
Car park walkways, ramps and pick-up bays
Stairs and landings in high-rise buildings

How slip testing works
1
Tell us about your site
The address, the surfaces and areas you need tested, and why: a risk check, a handover, a specification or an incident.
2
We confirm the method and quote
We recommend the right test method and standard, the number of test locations, access and timing.
3
We test on site
We take measurements at each agreed location, record the surface conditions and photograph every test area.
4
You receive your report
Readings and the mean BPN for each location, with a photo of every test area.
Yes. Balconies, decks, outdoor paths, ramps and pool surrounds can all be tested with the wet pendulum. We record the surface conditions on the day, so you can compare results if you retest after cleaning, treatment or resurfacing.
Sydney slip testing FAQs
Which parts of Sydney do you cover?
We test across greater Sydney, including the CBD, Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Northern Beaches, Hills District, Western Sydney, South West Sydney and the Sutherland Shire. Tell us the suburb when you enquire and we'll confirm timing.
How much does slip testing cost in Sydney?
Pricing depends on how many areas and surface types need testing, which standard applies, access to the site and when the work can be done. We confirm the scope first and quote before we book, so you know the cost upfront.
Do strata buildings in Sydney need slip testing?
There's no rule that every strata building must be tested on a set schedule. Owners corporations are responsible for maintaining common property, and a slip test gives the committee and strata manager measured, dated results for entries, stairs, pool areas and other common areas to help prioritise maintenance.
Can you test polished stone and marble floors?
Yes. Polished marble, granite and porcelain are common in Sydney lobbies and foyers, and they can lose grip quickly when wet. The wet pendulum test is non-destructive and leaves no mark on the surface.
