We test across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the wider Hunter. Industrial and warehouse walkways, hospitality venues, schools, healthcare facilities and new commercial builds all have surfaces that benefit from measured slip testing.
The Hunter's mix of industry, hospitality and new development means a wide range of surfaces. Coastal weather in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, dust and residue on industrial sites, and food and drink spills in hospitality venues all affect grip. Areas we're often asked to test:
Warehouse, workshop and industrial pedestrian walkways
Epoxy and coated floors
Cellar doors, restaurant floors and commercial kitchens
Hospital, aged care and healthcare corridors and bathrooms
Entries, stairs and ramps in new apartments and commercial builds
Outdoor paths, decks and pool surrounds
Sites we test across the Hunter
From Newcastle to the Hunter Valley, we test:
Industrial and warehouse sites
Hunter Valley cellar doors, restaurants and accommodation
Hospitals, aged care and healthcare facilities
Schools, TAFE and university campuses
Strata and new apartment developments
Shopping centres
Council and public areas
How slip testing works
1
Tell us about your site
The address, the surfaces and areas you need tested, and why: a risk check, a handover, a specification or an incident.
2
We confirm the method and quote
We recommend the right test method and standard, the number of test locations, access and timing.
3
We test on site
We take measurements at each agreed location, record the surface conditions and photograph every test area.
4
You receive your report
Readings and the mean BPN for each location, with a photo of every test area.
Which areas of Newcastle and the Hunter do you cover?
Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock, Port Stephens and the surrounding areas.
Can you test industrial and warehouse floors?
Yes, for pedestrian slip resistance. We test walkways, workshop floors, epoxy and coated surfaces, and loading areas where people walk. Our testing doesn't assess traction for forklifts or vehicles, which uses different methods.
Do you test cellar doors and hospitality venues in the Hunter Valley?
Yes. Tasting rooms, restaurant floors, commercial kitchens, amenities and outdoor terraces all see spills and regular cleaning, and we test them on site with the wet pendulum.
Do I need a NATA-endorsed report?
It depends on who's asking for the report. Some certifiers, contracts and legal matters require a NATA-endorsed report. Slip Testing Professionals is not currently NATA accredited, so check your requirements and tell us before booking.
How should I prepare the site for testing?
Let us know which areas need testing and arrange access. Each test location should be clean and clear of foot traffic while we test. We bring the equipment and water we need.
